Nick McCabe and The Verve

Despite his other projects Nick McCabe is mainly associated with The Verve. The main guitar player was involved in the project from the very beginng of The Verve.

"Thanks to" a difficult personality he became the L'enfant terrible of the band. Not only he was involved in all internal conflicts which lead to break-ups of the team. The producer of The Verve, Owen Morris, called him "a nightmare to work with".

Strangely those are also the qualities which make him fit so perfect into The Verve, the band not looking for the image of popularity, but being themselves "no matter what".

One thing is certain - Nick McCabe is one of the most gifted guitar players of our time. This is the reason why Ashcroft wanted him back for the third and forth albums. This despite the conflicts between these two in the past.
